DAY 7 – 3rd DAY NORTH
We had a leader
Options
There
were only four of us (one of us is taking the picture).
After
I examined this picture back onboard, I notice that I had serendipitously
photographed a Nordic troll disguising himself as a tree.
At
the B point of our A-B-A hike, I got this photo of the sister ship of the Richard With beating a hasty retreat
south.
This
rain forest (I guess meaning a forest that is very wet all the time) is similar
to that found in Washington state (not DC, that’s a swamp) and Vancouver.
On
the way back we had extra time, since we were incredibly fast hikers, probably
more incredible than any hikers with which Kristina has ever had the honor of
hiking. We got to stop at the Nidaros Cathedral,
where all Norweeger Royalty get coronated – using actual Norwegian Coronets.
They
have a pretty cemetery.
We
got back on board and were soon off, northwardly. Turns out that Norway has just as many
rainbows as waterfalls and sheep. I
think it may have to do with the northerly location and generally lower angle
of the sun combined with the good possibility that, “It’s raining around here
someplace.”
The
Captain announced that we were going through this narrow passage and we may
have to blow our horn to warn oncoming boats.
The bow was packed with photographers and selfie takers. I opted for the stern which was much less
windy and almost uninhabited.
Turns
out that was not thee Narrow Passage,
but you can tell by our wake it was kind of narrow. Anyway, we passed under a bridge,
and
had to make a turn into this passage.
Those
are bushes, not trees on the closest bank,
I don’t know what that white thing is – a bird house, maybe.
We
saw this very cute red tug boat pulling a barge.
Almost
6:30, time for supper.
